You have probably seen someone riding around your town on an electric scooter. You may also want it for several reasons: it is easy to control, it does not add to your carbon footprint and encourages to spend more time outdoors. There is one in particular that is smart — a new Xiaomi MiJia Electric Scooter White or Black. It can be connected to your smartphone, can fold itself in a matter of seconds and features an energy recovery system to wheel around.
Key characteristics:
- Full size: 1080×430×1140 mm
- Size when folded: 1080×430×490 mm
- Weight: 12.5 kg
- Distance between the charges: 30 km
- Maximum speed: 25 km / h
- Max. speed in battery saver mode: 18 km / h
- Engine power: 500 W
- Complete charge time: 5 hours
- Maximum weight allowed: 100 kg
Its stability, maneuverability, and mobility are excellent due to its construction out of aluminum alloy. The real draw here is that you can fold it in 3 seconds by pressing just one button. It compresses to a compact size, which would lend it to being easily carried up and down the curbs and stairways or over underground barriers. It weighs only 12.5 kg.
You can park the vehicle easily and safely. The scooter has two
Owing to a whopping 500 W motor and a long-lasting 280 W / h battery, the scooter can cover 30 km on a single charge at a maximum possible speed of 25 km / h. It also boasts KERS technology, which is used in Formula 1 cars. KERS converts a part of the energy from the braking process into a more useful energy to provide the scooter with power boost, thus extending its battery life. You can watch the level of battery charge on the LED display, adjusted to the handle.
Being fairly light itself, MiJia Electric Scooter can carry a weight of 100 kg, remaining its top speed. Whatever the load, you can still leave all the pedestrians behind.
For night rides the scooter has a bright front light that can beam 6 meters ahead and two red warning lights.
If the electric scooter does not rock your boat, check out a foldable Xiaomi QiCycle Electric Bike, presented in June this year. It has an onboard computer and enlarged battery range to be able to cycle 45 km distance without recharging.
