Voice-Controlled Xiaomi Mi Internet Speaker Promises Great Sound

Audio device industry is not a new thing for Xiaomi. It made a good start with its great-to-hear headphones, followed by numerous portable Bluetooth gadgets Xiaomi enthusiasts fell for. Recently Xiaomi brought another entertaining device called Mi Internet speaker aka Mi Wi-Fi speaker. Suggesting from the title this wireless speaker requires the Internet connection to stream music. But do not fret: without the Internet it is as versatile.

Xiaomi Mi Internet Speaker is home or office-oriented as it does not have a built-in battery and works corded. Its rectangular shaped body with a lined texture on the front is made out of polycarbonate, colored in white. Two 2.5-inch subwoofers are lodged inside, providing an extra bass.

The gadget sports 8 GB of onboard memory, enabling to store your favorite music and listen to it offline. Even if Wi-Fi connection goes down, the speaker is backed up with USB 2.0 for your flash-drive, Bluetooth 4.1 and DLNA technology. It can also use AUX cable to play tracks from your phone or PC.

Xiaomi partnered up with China streaming services to offer a collection of 20 million tracks and 1500 radio stations. It is also stuffed with an audiobook archive and thousands of storytelling stations.

The highlight of the speaker is a voice-activated search, programmed in at a touch of “CH” button. Something no Xiaomi device should be without — Mi Home App — allows to browse latest music releases, create genre playlists, subscribe to different channels and change device settings.

Xiaomi Wi-Fi is also an alarm clock, awakening you in the morning with your favorite tune. It is like an orchestra where you are a conductor. Let it play rhythmic music in the background while you are going about your daily housework or be a lyrical soundtrack for a family dinner.
