Xiaomi Is Getting Back into the Tablet Business with Mi Pad 3

For the past couple of weeks the whole hustle and bustle inside Xiaomi’s worldwide fan community had to do with the launch of Mi Pad 3. And the message that has been delivered by the company today finally answered all of the questions. Mi Pad 3 is officially out so let’s see what the hype is all about.

The main two features that define the difference between Mi Pad 3 and the first two models are chipset and battery size. Its design and the screen remained the same. Mi Pad 3 got a metal chassis and 7.9-inch IPS display. The resolution is 2048×1536 with a matching 326ppi density.

In terms of tech specs there is nothing in here that could be groundbreaking, but still Xiaomi brought enough features to the table to make it a contender for your daily device. Mi Pad 3 boards a 2.1GHz hexa-core MediaTeck MT8176 processor paired with 4Gb LPDDR3 RAM. Only a 64Gb modification is available for now, but the tablet supports microSD card up to 128Gb.

The key questions before the launch, as always, were around the battery life. And this time Xiaomi went big. Mi Pad 3 has a 6600 mAh cell and can keep the tablet up for 12 hours while playing MP4 at the maximum brightness and it can wait silently for activation order for as long as 867 hours!

The newest Mi Pad iteration also packs a 13MP main sensor with f/2.2 aperture and LED-flash and 5MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture.

Among the popular interfaces it has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, in-built GPS. It also got USB Type-C to charge and synch and supports 5V/2A fast charge.
